Bandangke is a traditional grazing route for local Tibetans. Every summer, they herd yaks and sheep to higher altitudes, and in autumn and winter, they move the animals to warmer areas down the mountains.
Exclusive Route, Away from Tourists
This is a mountainous region that has not been commercially developed, with no tourists along the way. You can quietly enjoy the vast and stunning natural landscapes.

A. Horse Trekking - 2-hour Journey

Starting from the trailhead, you will ride through the forest, reach a waterfall, and then return along the same route.

Along the way, you may have the chance to see herders leading yaks and sheep up the mountain.

Price (for 1 person): ¥240/person

Departure time: Flexible (before 2 PM)

If you need transportation to the horse riding starting point, a four-seat car can be arranged for ¥50 (one-way).

If you wish to go directly to Jiuhuang Airport after horse trekking, a taxi can be arranged for ¥200 per vehicle. (Luggage can be stored in advance at the Tibetan Barley front desk, and the taxi driver will collect it before departure.)

For children aged 6 or under, an additional fee of ¥200 applies for one-on-one guidance by a dedicated horse handler.

We’ve been looking for a horse ride that day and didn’t expected to find a really beautiful hotel in which the staff organized a transportation as well as the whole ride, although we were arriving quite late that day. They were really flexible and spontaneous, they provided us with rain ponchos and hats (it was rainy that day) and we went to the starting point of the ride. The guide was really friendly and showed us the waterfall, the beautiful landscape and gave us edible berries, he couldn’t speak English, but that didn’t matter. He made a campfire at the turning point, which was very nice! We had a great time there and we also were the only ones, so it’s not a very well known Tour, it’s basically an insider tip!We’re also considering to book a room in the hotel next time, since it’s got so much charme and individuality. All in all an awesome day! We definitely recommend doing this!

The horse trekking tour was amazing! I really enjoyed the peaceful time, because this tour is an insider tip, so there was no mass tourism. The staffs are very friendly and helpful, they tried everything to make us felt comfortable. To my mind this tour is commendable for people who love adventure and want to enjoy the nature (without any annoying Tourists) :D
“Unique experience! ”
Went on a 4-hour trek with 2 friends, we were accompanied by two friendly Tibetan guides who took great care of us and shared many interesting stories about the areas that we passed. It was refreshing being out there by ourselves especially after being subjected to massive crowds at Jiuzhaigou the day before. Initially I was a little worried as I’m usually quite skeptical about how animals are treated in tourism but the horses look healthy and well-fed, and were very well-behaved. The guides treated them with respect and we stopped several times as well for them to drink from the river. The organizer of this activity, Barley Inn, was also very helpful and flexible to our requests. While we did not stay there, we went there for lunch after the trek and the premises were clean and nicely furnished. Highly recommended activity for those who love the outdoors and wish to see it in a more personal way.

This was the highlight for my daughters of the whole family vacation. This was a wonderful experience for us all. The guides were outstanding. Even going to the extent of making sure the snow was pressed down so my daughters could safely explore the frozen waterfall.

老闆用心開發的山谷騎馬，前所未有的銘心體驗，棒到無以復加，沒有遊人，只有你們和馬！我是和幾個朋友一起去的，他們之前都騎過馬，我第一次，從上馬那一刻開始就開始緊張，如果害怕可以有人幫你牽著馬，但其實馬都很聽話，即使沒有騎過馬也可以不用牽，很刺激很自由，絕對比在其他全是遊客的地方騎馬爽多了，山頂的景色簡直了，直接上圖！而且有機會可以近距離接觸犛牛！下山的途中或者上山的途中會準備一次特色的藏族燒烤，烤雞烤犛牛肉酥油茶，馬幫的師傅都很熱情，而且很貼心周到，總之給我了一次很完美的騎馬體驗，特別適合出來放鬆的旅遊項目！騎馬，我們是認真的！

大師傅帶著我們騎著馬兒上了山，吃著燒雞喝著茶，沿著山路去到了沒有人煙，景色秀麗的群山之中。群山之中的景色，如果沒有人帶領，是萬萬到不得的，比起九寨溝反而更加貼近自然。

早就想帶著剛4歲和6歲的小女兒，去感受騎馬登山的感覺，到青稞客棧了解一下，發現他們可以安排獨立牧民姨姨伴騎，喜出望外，起行去也。馬匹性格溫純，牧民經驗豐富，一天行程，我們雖沒多少騎馬經驗，還是覺得既安全，又刺激。與小女兒同登3600米山頂，享受被群山環抱的感覺，久久不忘。

1. Can I participate if I have no experience in horse riding or camping?
Our itinerary is designed with the aim of offering an experience, making it ideal for guests who are trying horse riding and camping for the first time. Before departure, a simple briefing and safety instructions will be provided. In the beginning, a local herder will guide the horse, and once the guest feels more comfortable, they may request to control the horse on their own. Typically, within an hour, guests can manage basic control of the horse.
The purpose of outdoor camping is to experience nature. Due to limited conditions, we can only provide basic camping facilities, such as sleeping bags, tents, and simple camping toilets. Please note that bathing will not be available at night.
2. Is horse riding dangerous? What safety measures are in place?
The horses we select are well-trained and calm, suitable for riding. They are guided by experienced local herders who are familiar with the terrain. Additionally, all guests are required to purchase insurance for extra safety.
3. Can the difficulty of the horse riding route be increased?
Our horse riding routes are designed for an enjoyable experience, making them suitable for first-time riders or beginners. However, if you are an experienced rider, we are open to discussing more challenging routes.
4. 哪些人不適宜騎馬？
健康或身體狀況可能需要特別協助或不適宜騎馬（例如有過嚴重傷患或任何影響平衡，神智不清或癲癇發作的狀況），或曾被建議不宜騎馬。
5. 活動有沒有年齡限制？
騎馬活動僅限 3-80周歲，身體健康、能正常工作或正常生活的人士。
6歲或以下小朋友如想參加，需額外安排馬夫全程陪同騎馬（每位額外收費100元）。
*18歲以下參加者，需由家長或監護人簽署授權同意參加。
6. 下雨的話怎麼辦？
在小雨的情況下騎馬是沒有問題的，我們也會提供雨衣和牛仔帽給客人。
假如在出發前天氣太惡劣，由馬夫判斷認為影響安全時，便會取消行程，客人仍需每位繳付¥20作為行政費用；
假如在途中遇上惡劣天氣，由馬夫根據經驗決定是否需要縮短行程，可根據實際情況獲得相應的部份退款。
7. 其他注意事項？
